Welcome to BADSS
This is the website for BADSS - Bristol Area Downs Syndrome Support. We are an active parent led support group with around 150 members. Our aim is to enhance the lives of people with Downs Syndrome, their families and care givers in Bristol, Bath and surrounding area. We organise and run events for all ages from new born to young adults. We are also willing to share our experiences and knowledge, we are confident one of us will be able to offer help. This ranges from the simple help and reassurance of bring up children to helping get access to and resources from health and education Professionals and local Authorities.
We are affiliated to the Downs Syndrome Association (DSA). They provide the national focus for issues affecting anyone with Downs Syndrome. We also work closely with other local DSA groups and groups providing specific support such as the Downs Ed Trust.
The site is for principally for Parents and Guardians of children with Downs Syndrome or their friends and family who would benefit from help and support from other Parents. Feel free to contact us in confidence for help, advice or simply for someone to talk to.
Our pages for new parents try to offer the important immediate information that is useful at such a crucial point in their life.
